Garry L. Jones

Garry L. Jones Sr., of 197 Cedar Ave., Sharon, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 19,2013 at 7:20 p.m. in Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness . He was 65. Garry was born in Flint, Michigan on May 23, 1947, the son of the late Francis Stephen and Margaret Eleanor (Nelson) Jones. He had worked as a truck driver&shop manager at RSL Trucking in Sharon for 28 years.He had also worked as a pyrotechnition for Zambelli International of New Castle, PA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing,& camping at R.V. Village in Mercer, PA. Garry loved spending time with his family including his three grandsons, and especially with his extended family at R.V. Village. He was of the Catholic faith. He is the husband of Karen S. (Black) Jones, whom he married on Nov. 20, 1982. She survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Michelle Rabold of Sharon, PA and her husband, Danny Rabold.of Hermitage, PA and two sons, Michael Gary Jones of Michigan., Garry Lee Jones II of Sharon, PA, and three grandsons, Caleb, Collin, and Connor Rabold along with two brothers, David Jones and his wife, Millie of Coleman,Michigan.,and Wally Shaw, and his wife Jane, of Coldwater,Michigan along with several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special friend, Norman Keiser, of West Middlesex, PA with whom he has a strong Steelers/Browns rivalry. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, PA Division Inc, ATTN:Honor & Memorial gifts, P.O. Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033 Friends are invited to call Friday, Feb 22, 2013, from 4-8:00p.m., at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon, PA 16146. Funeral service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sharon, PA. at 10:30a.m. on Saturday, February 23rd, with Rev. Dr. Terry Mann, pastor officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery Hermitage, PA.
