Louis J. Oris Jr.

Louis J. Oris Jr., of 1827 Crescent Place, Hermitage, PA, passed away on Feb. 18, 2013 at 6:40a.m., in Nugent Convalscent Home in Hermitage, after an extended illness. He was 70. Lou was born in Sharon, PA on March 24, 1942, the son of the late Louis J. and Katherine (Lazor) Oris Sr..He was a 1961 graduate of Farrell High School and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon, PA. He had worked as a laborer at the former G.A.T.X. at in Masury, OH and at the former Golden Dawn Warehouse in Sharon. Lou enjoyed sports, including playing golf , and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also like to travel and spend time at Ft. Myers beach in Florida and at Treasure Lake in PA. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather who loved being with his family. He was the husband of Heather J. (McQuiston) Oris. whom he married on March 20, 1982. She survives at home. He is also survived by two daughters, Julie K. Oris of Hermitage, PA.and Lesley F. Barlett and her husband, Matthew, of Sharon,PA., and two grandsons, Jamareon Bradley and Greyson Barlett.and two sisters, Sue Oris of Farrell, PA., Jane Oris of Warren, OH .along with one niece, one great-nephew, and two great nieces. Besides his parents, he was preceeded in death by his son, John "Jay" Oris who passed away earlier this month on Feb. 10, 2013. Donations in his memory may be made to A.L.S.Association, NE Ohio Chapter, 2500 East 22nd Ave, Suite 102, Cleveland, OH 44415. Friends are invited to call Thursday, Feb 21, 2013, from 4-7:00 p.m.. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon, PA 16146. Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, at 11:00a.m. on Friday, February 22nd, with Rev. Terry Mann, pastor , officiating. Cremation services provided by the funeral home.
